The Year of 1975 Rolling Stone Magazine Archive

Interesting archive on Rolling Stone that highlights the year 1975. The Vietnam War officially ended when Saigon fell to Communist forces. Saturday Night Live began its 40-years-and-counting run on NBC, and Steven Spielberg's Jaws gave birth to the modern blockbuster. Patty Hearst's kidnapping, tracing her entire journey across America.

Lisa (Hess) Elliott and Elliott's Location Photography Donation

Besides being a teacher for 25 years Lisa (Hess) Elliott wondered a few years back what she was going to do when she retired. Creating Elliott's Location Photography was a natural choice for her. Lisa's photography and art had been her hobbies since high school classes with Dan Vesey. She said, "He was the inspiration behind me wanting to become a teacher." Lisa has a successful line of fine art photography sold online through Location Photography. She also has a portrait business through Elliott's Location Photography. Lisa has donated fine art photography for the drawing during the reunion. You too can donate. Please contact us.

Shelly (Rowley) Meadows and Imagine That Pottery Studio in Seabrook Donation

Classmate Shelly (Rowley) Meadows lives the dream here at her pottery studio in Seabrook, WA. Shelly has generously donated 70's themed memorabilia for some of the prize drawings to be handed out during the reunion. Imagine That! Shel's Pottery Painting Studio is a fun place to create memories when visiting the quaint town of Seabrook near Ocean Shores. Stop by and see her sometime. Thank you Shelly for your generosity. We look forward to seeing you at the reunion. You too can donate. Please contact us.

SATURDAY MORNING

May 16, 2015 Morning Activities (at your leisure and pace)
Invite a former classmate to get to know the new town you grew up in or time on your own.

Puyallup Riverwalk Trail- Did you know Puyallup has a paved trail along the river that stretches to Mt. Rainier? May would be a perfect time to stroll along the Puyallup Riverwalk Trail. If you're into running or hiking, take the trail east towards Sumner and Orting the paved path runs over the old railroad that used to extend to Mt. Rainier. It meanders through the back of former daffodil farms and against the bank of the Puyallup River. Click the link above that takes you to the City of Puyallup and then the link to the map. (FREE optional, at your leisure)

Anthem Coffee and Tea- Is there a Starbucks in Puyallup? The answer is yes! Puyallup's downtown Starbucks is located a drive to 303 River Road in front of Fred Meyer (formerly Hi Ho). A better choice might be local Anthem Coffee and Tea located adjacent to Pioneer Park. Get your beverage early Saturday, then head to the Farmer's Market. If you want to pick-up your poker run card at this time, go for it! (optional at your leisure)

Farmer's Market- Located in Pioneer Park, Saturdays April-September. Tour arts and crafts, grab yourself some fruit from local farmers for breakfast, locally baked breads, light lunch or simply relax a spell in front of the library steps and people watch. If it gets hot, head across Meridian to Elements Frozen Yogurt. (optional at your leisure)

Antique Shopping- Puyallup is a mecca for antiques if that's your groove. Check out at least six shops within the business district of downtown.

Meeker Mansion- Restored and beautifully furnished in period antiques. Donation at door. Books on Puyallup history available.

Elements Frozen Yogurt- Directly across from Pioneer Park is Elements Frozen Yogurt. Check out the new City Hall located above the business. (optional at your leisure)

Splash Pad- Don't forget your shorts! Cool off before the reunion on the new Puyallup splash pad is opening 2015. (Very optional)

SUNDAY MORNING

May 17, 2015
Auntie B's- breakfast downtown and Puyallup's best kept secret. Skip Sambo's, Pioneer Bakery and Netties (they don't exist) and Mrs. Turner's has a line a mile long. Important: Subscribe and Keep Informed

Dear Classmates,
First off we the committee would like to thank you for getting your registration forms in for the upcoming reunion in May. Due to the growing number of classmates signing up it has been harder to keep you all informed as to what activities are being planned for the big event. We are asking if you haven't already been following the updates on our reunion blog that you can start by subscribing to the blog to the left of this page. There are a lot of things in the making and want to make sure you are informed. If you can think of a classmate that has not as of yet registered give them a call or call one of your committee members to contact them. Looking forward to seeing you in May.
