After High School I went to the UW to earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering, married in 1981 (Julie Collman, PHS Class of ’76), and we have 2 daughters. I worked at Weyerhaeuser initially, and then Boeing for 27 years until retiring. Along the way, ran 50 marathons, Boston Marathon 4 times, always have ridden motorcycles, and started a business named JDJetting LLC, manufacturing & selling dirt bike jetting kits and carburetor parts.

I currently enjoy living on Long Lake in Lacey, riding dirt & street bikes thru out the northwest, and spend time going south to visit relatives in the winter. I still run a little, and support the “Green River Marathon” that I co-founded in 1997, for what might be the only FREE USATF certified Boston Marathon qualifying race course in the country.
